Episode 4: Historical layers of Myyrmäki
Did you know, that Myyrmäki had human settlement 9400 years ago and the area was by the seashore?
On fourth episode the studio is occupied by Vantaa City Museum archaeologist Andreas Koivisto, SAV’s artist Essi Ruuskanen and Aryan Hasanvandi from Pehmeä Vandalismi art collective. This group of fearless layer diggers is hosted by our beloved Myyrmäki activist Johannes Kaira.
Street Art Vantaa has had collaboration earlier with Andreas on “From Stone Age to Street Art” tours in Myyrmäki. Now the cooperation has deepened—mostly thanks to Essi, who has background in archaeology—to create dialogue between mural art and historical layers from our surroundings.
Andreas Koivisto, who has family history for five generations in Vantaa and is the chairman of Local heritage organization Vantaa-Seura, is a living data bank of things happened in Vantaa for thousands of years.
